Every year, new deacons are expected to be ordained to serve the people of God in the church.
Here in the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra Most. Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie CSSp. recently ordained 7 transitional deacons.
The deacons are as follows : Rev. Dominic Kwabla Amanor of St. Kizito Catholic Church, Nima; Rev. Bernard Adu-Tawiah Snr of St. Anne & Joachim Church, Teshie ; Rev. Terry Ekow Hutchful of Borromeo Catholic Church, Oyibi ; Rev. Emmanuel Boateng of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Kwashieman; Rev. John Armah Koufie from Blessed Clementina Church, Ashaiman; Rev. lsaac Gyasi Amoateng from St. John the Evangelist , Adenta and also from St. Peter Damian Catholic Church, Kpone is Rev. Emmanuel Elikem Mensah Larnyoh.
Each Candidate willingly expressed desire of taking the bold step to be a servant in Gods Vineyard and not under duress. One after the other they promised to discharged the office of deacon with humility and love, in order to assist the Bishop, the priest, and to serve the people of God.
They promised respect and obedience to the Archbishop and his Successors and to live a life of celibate. All are being entreated to remember them in prayer as the 7 transitional deacons prepare to become priests in August 2020.
