Arnoldus Family Feast 2020

The Divine Word Missionaries (SVD) Southern Ghana celebrated their Arnoldus Family feast on Friday, 24th January, 2020 at the SVD Conference Centre, Nsawam Adoagyiri together with the Missionary sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit (SSpS), some family members and friends.

The occasion coincided with anniversary celebrations of some SVD Priests and Religious who have selflessly served the church in Ghana to become what it is today.

In his homily, Fr. Andrews Obeng, SVD, spoke about their patron saint Arnold Jansen who bore many qualities. He said Arnold Jansen was not afraid to take risks and for that we should emulate his lifestyle and be ready to take risks in the light of prayer and faith which will lead all to God. He went further to say he was a man of prayer and knew the value of prayer and the value of perseverance. “He never gave up despite all obstacles, he kept that faith and formed 3 congregations, a testimony of perseverance”, he said.

He encouraged all present to not give up but keep up the energy like Arnold Jansen and bear more fruits. He urged them to follow in the footsteps of Arnold Jansen by reaching out to the poor and marginalized and most importantly bringing them closer to God.
