Ordination of Mgrs Henryk Jagodziński

On Saturday, July 18, in the Cathedral Basilica of Kielce, took place the ordination Mgrs Henryk Jagodziński from Małogoszcz. By the decision of Pope Francis, Mgrs Henryk Jagodziński was appointed Archbishop and Apostolic Nuncio in Ghana, Africa.

The ceremony was presided over by Archbishop Jan Romeo Pawłowski, delegate for nunciatures at the Secretariat of State of the Holy See. The co-consecrator was Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, Apostolic Nuncio in Poland and Jan Piotrowski, Bishop of Kielce. As a bishop’s call, Archbishop Jagodziński adopted the words “In fines orbis”, that is, “To the ends of the world”.

Archbishop Henryk Jagodziński was born on January 1, 1969 in Małogoszcz. He studied at the Major Seminary in Kielce, but also for some time at the Polish Seminary in Paris. He was ordained a priest on June 3, 1995.

He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on July 1, 2001.

His earlier assignments included stints in the offices representing the Holy See in Belarus from 2001-2005, Croatia from 2005 -2008, in the Section for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State in Rome, and in India from 2015- 2018, and Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2018 -2020.

On May 3, 2020, Pope Francis set a new task for him. The Archbishop was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Ghana.
