Final Vows in the life of a religious is understood as an individual’s free response to a call by God.
Sr. Cynthia Addi-Chanagea, a presenter on Lumen Christi TV Ghana channel is among the four Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit, SSpS, expected to freely offer themselves in perpetual profession.
Each candidate will take three vows: The Vow of Chastity is to imitate Jesus Christ who was chaste. The Vow of Obedience is to imitate the obedience of Jesus Christ by seeking God’s will and obeying their lawful superiors according to the constitutions of their religious community and the Vow of Poverty is to emulate Jesus who for our sake became poor. The purpose of this vow is to free themselves from being fascinated by material things and to live a life of moderation.
Their offerings will be united with the offerings of Christ upon appending their signature to the Vow Document which will be on the altar of sacrifice.
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra will host the ceremony to the Glory of God. Priests, religious congregations and communities, family and friends of the celebrants will come from far and near in support of the Reverend Sisters to make this firm commitment to God while others join online to share in their joy.
