Having gone through the required spiritual and formative voyage there were beaming smiles on the faces of the four Missionary Sisters Servant of the Holy Spirit, SSpS Ghana-Province as they willingly, in a solemn ceremony professed their perpetual vows.
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Odorkor-Tipper in the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra was up to capacity as more priests, friends and love ones couldn’t wait but to join in the vibrant celebration which was a spectacle to behold.
Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, Bishop of the Ho diocese was the principal celebrant concelebrated by the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Accra, Very Rev. Fr. John Louis, Very Rev. Fr. Kuupol, Provincial for SVD Ghana-Liberia Provinc as well as Rev. Fr. Andrews Obeng, SVD, Assistant Provincial SVD with a number of Priests. Religious brothers and sisters, lay faithful and well-wishers also graced the occasion which also fell on the feast of The Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Bishop Fianu charged the sisters to live a life worthy of emulating and to stay faithful to their call. “Your call is a call to mission, a call to be sent to say what God has entrusted to you and to accept the call from God is to go and transform the world with passion,” He stated.
Sr. Josephine Essuman SSpS, on behalf of the celebrating sisters, SRs Cynthia Addi-Chanagea, Dorothy Sedinam Kporyi and Charlotte Dery acknowledged the support of all and sundry in their journey till now and expressed commitment to go and transform.
In the common mission of SSpS congregation, Sr.Charlotte Dery is to serve the Church in Zambia, Sr Josephine Essuman SSpS will be working in the Province of Paraguay in South America while Sr. Cynthia Addi-Chanagea and Sr. Dorothy Sedinam Kporyi serve the church in Ghana.
