All is set for the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) which was postponed in June due to the COVID- 19 Pandemic from Monday 14th September to Friday 18th September, 2020.
According to the Statistics given to the media, 269,419 of the Candidates are males and 262, 286 are Females.
In2019, a total of 517, 332 candidates from 16, 871 schools wrote the Exams across the country while in 2018 a total of 509, 824 final- year junior high Schools (JHS) students were presented.
An examination timetable issued to head teachers by WAEC confirmed the visually and hearing impaired candidates would be given an extra one and half hour against the time assigned to other candidates.
The BECE is used by the GES (Ghana Education Service) to select qualified candidates for senior high School and Technical Institutes across the Country.
Various Political and Religious Bodies have wished the candidates all the best.
