Catholic Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi 2020 Priestly Ordination Rescheduled

The 2020 Priestly Ordination for the Catholic Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi has been postponed till Sunday, October 25, 2020.

Priestly ordinations usually take place on a Saturday but according to a press release signed by the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. John Baptist Attakruh, the date changed came after considering the proposed date by the ordaining Bishop, Most Rev. Joseph Francis Kweku Essien, Bishop of the Diocese of Wiawso.

There (3) reverend deacons will be ordained come Sunday, October 25.2020 “Parishes may celebrate anticipatory Mass in the evening of Saturday, 24th October where possible” so as to encourage the presence of more priests at the ordination ceremony which takes place at the Star of the Sea Cathedral, Takoradi at 9 am. Rev.Ernest Boateng  is the son of Mr Joseph Adu And Mrs Agnes Asiedu, worships with Immaculate Conception Parish, Asankrangwa, attended: St. Mary’s Boys’ Senior High, Hobbies: Listening To Music, Watching Wrestling, Playing Football, Ludo, And Draughts. Language Spoken: Twi, Fante, English

Rev. Justice Kenyah Azane, son of Albert Azane Kenyah and Elizabeth Efuah Cudjoe, a parishioner of St. Peter’s Parish, Jaway – Wharf, attended St. John’s School, Sekondi; Hobbies: Reading, exploring, football Languages Spoken: Nzema, Fante, Asante Twi, and English.


Rev. Stephen Awotwe Baidoo, son of Mr Joseph Baidoo and Mrs Mary Baidoo worships with St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Kwesimintsim, went to St. Mary’s Boys Senior High; hobbies: reading, playing football, basketball, listening to music, Languages: Twi, Fante, English.
