Holy Week in the midst of Covid 19 pandemic- Archbishop Kwofie’s directive

The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra has issued a directive to Priests, Religious bodies and the Lay Faithful to observe during the “Holy Week”.

This directive has become necessary referring to the Decree issued by the Congregation for Divine Worship in March 2020 due to the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic.

The signed letter by the Chief Shepherd, Most Rev  John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp highlights the following:  on Palm Sunday, there shall be no public procession, Chrism Mass participation has been restricted, washing of feet on Holy Thursday has been omitted, Stations of the Cross must take place inside the church building. There will be no baptism only renewal of baptismal promises will take place and finally, no Easter picnic.
