Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated on the Second Sunday of Easter, the Octave of Easter, which this year is April 11, 2021.
To mark this year’s celebration, a delegation from the All Saints Catholic Church, Ashalaja in the Greater Accra Region led by the Vice Chairman of the Church Pastoral Council Mr. Roger Kantchie, visited the Kressner orphanage home at Otaten.
During their visit, a donation of various items was made on behalf of the Priest in charge Rev. Fr. Patrick Quarcoopome, and the entire congregation. Items include foodstuffs, drinks, provision, toiletries, and an undisclosed cash donation.
The Rev. Sisters in charge of the orphanage and the children were very happy to receive the delegation and thanked the church for remembering them.
Disclosing some of their challenges, the Rev. Sisters in Charge of the Orphanage stated that their major and current problem is about their land which is being unlawfully occupied by people. They said that they hope that individuals and organizations in their little way come to rescue the situation to help build a fence wall around the orphanage to protect both properties and the children.
