Pope in Corpus Christi: We must enthusiastically carry Jesus into everyday life

For the second year in a row, the pandemic forced the cancellation of the traditional Corpus Christi procession through the streets of Rome.
But Pope Francis replaced it with a mass in St. Peter’s Basilica.
The Pope recalled those massive processions and recalled that Christians cannot live their faith only from the inside.
FRANCISCO
“The procession with the Blessed Sacrament, characteristic of the Corpus Christi feast, which for the moment we cannot carry out, reminds us that we are called to go out carrying Jesus. To go out with enthusiasm carrying Christ to those whom we meet in the life of each day”.
Francis reflected on the Eucharist. He said that it will become something important in the life of every Christian if each one is able to admire the humility of God that is present in simple things.
He said that discovery leads first to wonder and then to worship God, a key attitude to lead a life of faith.
FRANCISCO
“We must leave the small room of our self to enter the great space of amazement and adoration. If this is lacking, if amazement and adoration are lacking, there is no way that will lead us to the Lord. Nor will there be synod, nothing. This is the attitude before the Eucharist, we need this: adoration “.
In fact, at the end of the celebration, all those present, including the Pope, prayed for several minutes before the exposed Eucharist.
The mass was held with few people in the apse of San Pedro, in the so-called Altar de la Cátedra. It is a secluded area of the basilica, reserved for praying in silence and recollection.
