Pope regrets that half was collected for the Holy Land: Do not be indifferent

The Pope has met with the so-called ROACO, the committee of organizations to help Eastern Christians.

They come from various countries and support Christian communities in serious difficulty. For example, they help rebuild churches and buildings, support hospitals, and give scholarships.

Before them, the Pope has lamented the lack of global initiatives to stop the war in Syria.

FRANCISCO
“These ten years of conflict continue to be a scandal, millions of internally and externally displaced, victims, and demand for reconstruction, which is hostage to partisan logic and the lack of courageous decisions for the good of that tormented nation.”

Francis thanked them for also helping Christians from countries in difficulty such as Eritrea, Lebanon, Armenia or Georgia.

He also mentioned the serious crises in Lebanon and the Holy Land.

FRANCISCO
“Too often, also recently, those skies have been furrowed by artifacts that bring destruction, death and fear. I thank you for your commitment to supporting Lebanon in this serious crisis, and I ask you to pray and invite us to pray for the meeting that we will have on July 1, together with leaders of the Christian Churches of the country ”.

The Pope has sadly announced that the last collection for the Holy Land raised half of last year. Francis has asked Catholics not to be indifferent to the difficulties of the fragile Christian community in Jerusalem.
