Francisco, in the operating room for a problem in the intestine

The Pope looked good at this Sunday’s Angelus.

And as usual he said goodbye asking for prayers.

FRANCISCO
And please, don’t forget to pray for me. Thanks! Goodbye!

However, a few hours later he would be operated.

The Vatican explained that it is a “symptomatic diverticular stenosis of the colon.”

It is a scheduled operation, not an emergency one.

GABRIELLA TERESA CAPOLUPO
Polyclinic Campus Bio-Medico (Rome)
“The operation is called resection of the large intestine, which is the part that goes before the rectum. The inflamed part is removed, about 20 centimeters of intestine more or less, and the parts are joined. As if it were a tube in which you remove the part in the middle and join the ends ”.

Gabriella Capolupo explains that this operation has nothing to do with Francisco’s sciatica.

According to experts, it takes around three days of convalescence and it is difficult to have complications.
