Pope announces trip to Slovakia with stop in Budapest

Francisco has made an announcement after the Angelus prayer this Sunday in Saint Peter’s Square.
FRANCISCO
“I am happy to announce that between September 12 and 15, God willing, I will travel to Slovakia for a pastoral visit. The Slovaks are very happy ”.
Francis will visit the capital, Bratislava, and the cities of Prešov, Košice and Šaštin.
After his trip to Iraq, the Pope had announced that he would be at the closing of the International Eucharistic Congress in Budapest and that he would then go to Slovakia.
FRANCISCO
“I will go to Hungary for the final Mass of the Eucharistic Congress. It is not a visit to the country, I will go to Mass. But Budapest is a two-hour drive from Bratislava, and why not visit the Slovaks as well? “
Although this trip to Slovakia had been announced, the Pope surprised by saying that he will spend four days in that nation.
John Paul II visited Slovakia and Hungary twice during his pontificate.
