Covid-19: Ghana’s death toll rises to 799

Two more lives have been lost to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
This brings the total number of deaths recorded in the country so far to 799.
In its latest update, the GHS revealed that as of July 6, a total of 1,982 active cases were recorded in thirteen regions.
The three regions that have not recorded active cases are the Savannah, Upper East and Upper West regions.
Also, new cases recorded stand at 159.
Twenty-three of the cases recorded are said to be severe while 11 others are regarded as critical.
The Ghana Health Service also revealed that 1,933 Covid-19 cases have been recorded at the Kotoka International Airport. Out of this figure, 1,838 persons have recovered and subsequently discharged.

Meanwhile, Greater Accra with 53,282 confirmed cases remains the region with the highest number of cases recorded.
