OBAAPANYIN AGNES TOKWA KWOFIE GOES HOME

A solemn burial mass for the late Obaapanyin Agnes Tokwa Kwofie, biological Mother of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp has been held in the early hours of Friday, 27th August 2021  at the Atta Fisher R/C school park in Takoradi.


Among sympathizers who graced burial mass included: His eminence the Peter Cardinal Appiah Turkson, the Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana,  Msgr Henryk Mieczysław Jagodziński, Bishop-Elect John Baptist, Attakruh (Takoradi-Diocese) Bishops and Archbishops of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Priests, Religious Brothers and Sisters near and far. Traditional leaders and the lay faithful were also well represented in their morning black and white attire.

The Homilist, Most Rev. Matthias Nketsiah said Christians must be ready for Christ Quoting John 14: 3 he told all present that  God is going to prepare a place to receive his own. however, the time he will come is not known that is why Christians must be watchful and do what is expected in expectation of the second coming of Jesus. The Homilist again urged all to give thanks to God in all things.

The biography of the deceased was read as well as tributes from close relations. The late Obaapanyin Agnes Tokwa Kwofie was described by most tributes read as a woman with a disciplinary spirit who cared for others.

Most Rev Gabriel Charles Palmer-Buckle said the final commendation.
