These two years also serve to make Rome a city and Italy a country that can once again show its best self with its tradition of hospitality that over the centuries has made it known as a “patria communis.”
At the end of the press conference, Giacomo Trevissani spoke about his design chosen to represent the Jubilee Year. He explains that his inspiration came from Pope Francis.
Author of the logo
I imagined the Pope, today’s Peter, leading God’s people toward the common goal. They were embracing the cross, which has become an anchor, a solid reference for humanity. And we the people were clinging to each other and to that anchor. And so, in this way, we, too, can symbolically evoke pilgrims of all ages.
This Jubilee Year will be celebrated in 2025—25 years after Pope John Paul II concluded the last Jubilee in 2000 in Rome.
