Catholic Media Professionals In Accra Get New Leadership

A new leadership for the Accra Chapter of the Catholic Association of Media Practitioners-Ghana (CAMP-G) has been inducted to lead and coordinate media professionals in the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra.

The Induction which took place at the St. Bakhita Catholic Church, Lashibi on Sunday, August 17, 2025, brought together other members of the Catholic Professional Guilds and stakeholders to witness the inauguration of the new CPG Council and Executives for the other Guilds such as the Business, Management and Finance Guild, Teachers Guild and the Health Professionals Guild.

The new executives of the Accra Chapter of CAMP-G are: George Nyavor- President, Shirley Naa Kwarley Quartey – Vice President, Cynthia Boateng Sagoe – Secretary, Veronica Sena Amenya – Assistant Secretary, Godwin Quist- Organiser, Celestine Edem Gbologah – Treasurer, Rev. Fr. Januarius Akpabli, Chaplain, and Robert Dela Mawuenyegah, an Ex–Officio Member who is currently the Acting Director of Accra Archdiocesan Communication Office (DEPSOCOM).

In an address delivered by Mr. Samuel Benedict Kwaku Nugblega, the Chairman of the CPG Council, described the inauguration as “a renewal of purpose and a recommitment to our shared mission,” pledging to build on the legacy of past leaders with humility, integrity, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

He added, “I salute the outgoing leadership and all who have served before us for their tireless dedication. You have laid a strong foundation of faith, values, and service. Now, with humility and determination, we take up the mantle and promise to build on it—guided by the Holy Spirit and the teachings of our Church”.

Present at the Induction and Inauguration Mass was the Most Rev. John Kobina Louis, Auxiliary Bishop of Accra, who presided over the Mass and prayed for the new Executives and assured them of his support.

Bishop John Kobina Louis, in his reflection, reminded the lay faithful that the Catholic community has a responsibility to stand behind these Professionals as they bring Catholic values to bear on national life.

The Catholic Association of Media Practitioners- Ghana (CAMP-G) is an Association that brings together all Catholic professionals in the various areas of communication in the country, including print, electronic, and information technology, public relations, publishing, film production, press photography, and academia.

The Association’s main objectives are to help publicize activities of the Catholic Church, the promotion of evangelisation, and also to serve as a forum for discussing matters affecting the professional and welfare interests of members.
