Nine Teachers Recognized at Archdiocesan Education Awards
Nine dedicated teachers from Catholic private schools within the Accra Archdiocese have been honoured for their outstanding contribution to education at the maiden Archdiocesan Education Committee (AEC) Teachers’ Awards Ceremony held at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Adabraka, on October 4, 2025.
The award ceremony, which was held under the auspices of Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, was themed, “Recognizing Our Teachers’ Dedication.”
Clergy, School heads, PTA representatives, sponsors, and guests gathered at the ceremony to motivate teachers and promote educational excellence within the Archdiocese.

Mrs Ernestina Sarfoa Osei Tutu, Chairperson of the Planning Committee, explained that the awards are meant to appreciate the selfless dedication of teachers who mould lives and build the nation’s future leaders.
“Teachers give more than lessons, they give life, hope, and direction,” she said, adding that their influence extends beyond academics to moral and social development.
Monsignor Theodore Quaye, the Main Celebrant during the mass, in his homily, urged teachers to be selfless in their service and always to remember God’s presence in their work and the nation’s development.
