Teachers Are Catalysts for Change — Rev. Fr. Ahorlu

Rev. Fr. Henry Ahorlu, the Vice Chairman of the Archdiocesan Education Committee (AEC), has described teachers as “mentors, role models, and catalysts for change.”

He made this statement during the maiden AEC Teachers’ Awards Ceremony held at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, Adabraka, on October 4, 2025, to celebrate nine exceptional educators from Catholic private schools in the Accra Archdiocese.

Fr. Ahorlu commended the teachers for their tireless commitment to shaping minds and nurturing values among learners.

“Your dedication goes beyond the classroom,” he said. “You invest in the holistic development of your learners, fostering not just academic excellence but also character and integrity.”

He encouraged teachers to continue learning and to make room for coaching and collaboration.
“Let us build a culture of appreciation and support where teachers learn from each other and grow together,” he added.

Fr. Ahorlu concluded by reminding educators that their greatest reward lies in the impact they make on their students, urging them to continue striving for excellence and to take pride in their noble profession.
