Over 15,000 Catholics in Accra End Rosary Congress with 3-hour Prayer Walk

On Saturday,  October 18, 2025, over 15,000 pilgrims of the Maiden Rosary Congress in the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra flooded major streets in the township for a rosary procession to mark the final day of the Rosary Congress.

The procession, which saw thousands of dedicated devotees of the Blessed Virgin Mary begun from two different locations where pilgrims within Accra West gathered at the Water Garden at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, while those from Accra East started their prayer walk from the Greenery in front of the African Regent Hotel at Teeth Quarshie.

Both groups proceeded along their respective routes, united in purpose, as they journeyed toward the Our Lady of Fatima Grotto at the Christ the King Catholic Church, where the Rosary procession was to be climaxed.

The Rosary Prayer walk featured songs and hymns to the Blessed Virgin Mary, exalting and praising the Mother of God.

Pilgrims devotedly prayed each decade of the rosary, fervently invoking the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary to hear their intentions.

‎As pilgrims approached the entrance of Christ the King Catholic Church, where the procession was climaxed, Rev. Fr. Alphonse Bulloro and Rev. Fr. Ebenezer Hanson sprinkled holy water upon the pilgrims as a sign of blessing and sanctification.‎

The day was also climaxed with a concluding Mass, which was presided over by Most Rev. Julien Kaboré, the Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, and was attended by Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of Ghana, who graced the occasion on behalf of the President.

Also in attendance was Hon. Patricia Appiagyei, Member of Parliament for Asokwa Constituency, Kumasi and Deputy Minority leader of the Parliament of Ghana.
