THE BONAVENTURE LENTEN CHALLENGE

On Wednesday, 18th February 2026, we begin the Lenten season with the observance of Ash Wednesday. This sacred period offers us another opportunity to challenge ourselves spiritually as Catholics, in support of charity, as the spirit of the season demands.

This year’s Bonaventure Lenten Challenge, named after the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp, seeks to direct our Lenten charity towards the Legacy of Hope Pediatric Cancer Hospital located at Adjen Kotoku, as we prayerfully meditate on the Book of Ruth.

This initiative provides an opportunity for everyone, both home and abroad, rich and poor alike, to contribute towards the building and completion of the Legacy of Hope Children’s Hospital, so that it may be completed as quickly as possible.
Let us remember that it is our spiritual duty to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, and visit the sick.

May this year’s Lenten season be spirit-filled and deeply fulfilling
