Card. Pell on the Church in Germany: No one has the right to alter the doctrine of Jesus

Cardinal George Pell shows in the second volume of his memoirs in prison his concern about the drift of the Church in Germany.

Former Prefect, Secretariat for the Economy
“The Church in Germany is at a crossroads. You are faced with two options. The first, to think that we are servants and defenders of the Apostolic Tradition, which has been revealed to us by Jesus and the Apostles. The second, to think that we are masters of that Tradition, that we can change and correct it according to the trends of the modern world. In my opinion, (…) we are not above Tradition or revealed Truth. We do not have the ability to reject, make up or discard what we do not like ”.
Cardinal Pell warns that when fidelity to the Magisterium is lost, the risk of rupture increases exponentially.

“There is no schism at the moment and I hope it will not occur. I don’t think it will happen. If someone wants to create another Protestant Church in Germany, I don’t know how they will receive the taxes that correspond to the Catholic Church. This detail alone is an obstacle to any schism ”.
Cardinal Pell believes that some Church leaders in Germany are losing sight of the real problems in the West.
CARD. GEORGE PELL
Former Prefect, Secretariat for the Economy
“In the Western world a systematic change is taking place in the legal bases of our society to remove the Judeo-Christian heritage. (…) Behind everything is the essential question about God or ‘not God’, theism or atheism or agnosticism. The Church deals better with dialogue with atheists than with agnostics. Because the Dawkins of this world have done a good service to believers, by having remembered the importance of their beliefs. The problem is for those who are not interested in considering the existence of God. It is very difficult to exist like this ”.
The second volume of his memoirs of imprisonment in Australia, where he was wrongly convicted, highlights the battles worth fighting today.
