Family networks: the secret they promote in parishes to support each other

The Christian Family Movement has been helping families grow in faith and promoting Christian values in society for more than 70 years.

They organize conferences, debates and create networks of families that help each other to sustain themselves in the difficulties of daily life.

“Many families feel that they are doing things alone, as if they do not know anyone else who is facing the same problems as them. Our meetings bring these families together to talk about it and to see other couples in the same condition. So they talk about how to address those concerns. “

The movement’s executive director, Lauri Przybysz, says the goal is to foster and strengthen strong relationships between small groups of families. It says that this is essential for a Christian to develop his life of faith.

“It’s all about relationships and making friends in the parishes. In America, parishes are getting bigger, and small groups are going to be essential to living our faith in the future. “

The pandemic forced organizers to find creative ways to reunite families safely. For example, meet virtually or celebrate Masses in the open air so as not to lose the true sense of community.

“I think one thing that we have learned from the pandemic, or at least one thing that we experience, is isolation. And I think now there is a kind of hunger on the part of individuals and families to say, ‘You know what, we really need each other.’ We really need a concrete interaction ”.

As the United States begins to ease the restrictions imposed during the pandemic, the Christian Family Movement is trying to recover one of the greatest resources for Christian families to strengthen their faith: others.
