Fr. Aaron Agorsor’s Book on “God’s Mercy” Launched

Rev. Fr Aaron Agbeshie Agorsor recently unveiled his latest book titled “Jesus’ Ministry of Liberation; A Companion after the Year of Mercy”.
The book, “Jesus’ Ministry of Liberation; A Companion after the Year of Mercy”. launched at Christ the King Parish Hall on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, is his second book outdoor in Accra.
According to Fr. Agorsor, his motivation to author the book is in two folds; with the first motivation originating from Pope Francis’ proclamation of the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy in December 2015.
“Reflecting on all the activities of the Year of Mercy, I felt it cannot just be like any other celebrations that the Church has had in the past: like the Year of Priests, Year of the Eucharist, Year of Faith and the like. The reason is that divine mercy endures forever”, he said.
He added that his second motive for writing the book was to give hope to youth who are in despair.
“I have had the privilege of ministering to catholic students of the Arizona State University’s Affiliated to All Saints Catholic Newman Center for the past three years.
With the privilege of sitting in the confessional and having students come for confession, offering counselling and spiritual direction, I have seen frustration; I have seen moments of despair, moments of self-pity and sometimes depression. Ours is the culture of despair.
Therefore, I have encouraged all that when life gives you more than you can stand to kneel”.
Also, the Deputy Attorney General and Deputy Minister for Justice, Diana Asonaba Dapaah, who chaired the book launch stated that “the book touches a range of other topics like, ministry and the kinds of ministers there are, the treatment of the vulnerable in society, compassion”.
She further prayed that God makes the book an adequate complement of the word, a lighthouse for the wandering Christian, a repository for the searching Christian and a companion for the lonely.
