Pope Francis must spend more days in the hospital

Francisco will stay at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome longer than expected. According to the latest Vatican statement, the Pope completed his postoperative recovery, but will remain in hospital for a few more days to “optimize his medical and rehabilitation therapy.”

The Vatican had said that Pope Francis would spend seven days in the hospital to recover from the intestinal surgery he underwent on July 4. That deadline was met this Monday and they have had to extend it.

This Sunday the Pope prayed the Angelus from a hospital balcony and he looked good.

The Vatican indicated that after the Angelus, Francis greeted hospital patients and medical staff, and in the afternoon he celebrated Mass in a private chapel.

He was also happy for the victories of the Argentine and Italian soccer teams and dedicated a few words to the importance of sports, highlighting how they can teach people to “face life’s challenges, fight without giving up, with hope and confidence. “.
