Pope asks for “peace, dialogue and solidarity” in Cuba
Pope Francis has reappeared in public, after returning to the Vatican to continue his convalescence at home.
Naturally, after the recent colon operation he is a little thinner and his voice is a little weaker.
In the square there were Cuban pilgrims who reminded him of the protests on his island.
FRANCISCO
“I am close to the dear Cuban people in these difficult times, in particular to the families that suffer the most. I ask the Lord to help them build an increasingly just and fraternal society in peace, dialogue and solidarity ”.
The Pope also recalled the storms in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands that have caused almost 200 deaths and enormous material damage.
FRANCISCO
“May the Lord welcome the deceased and comfort the family members. And support the efforts of all to help those who have suffered serious damage.
Francisco explained the importance of resting during the holidays. He said that it is the antidote to “the trap of activism, of those who think that the most important thing is the result and feel that they are the protagonists of what happens.”
FRANCISCO
“Be careful, brothers, with efficiency, let’s stop the frantic rush that dictates our agendas. Let’s learn to pause, to turn off the cell phone, to contemplate nature, to regenerate ourselves in dialogue with God ”.
The Pope is on vacation until August 4. You don’t have appointments on your schedule, but you do have to deal with rehab and urgent matters. That is why he said goodbye asking for prayers for him.
