The 2nd National Catholic Education Forum has kick-started in the Catholic Diocese of Koforidua being attended by members of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference and scores of stakeholders in Education.
The five-day Forum from March 10 to 15, 2025 is on the theme “Catholic Education for Integral Development: Shaping a Resilient and an Inclusive Ghana.”
The opening ceremony is currently underway at the Eastern Premier Hotel, Koforidua. Some speakers expected at the ceremony are Dr. Charles Abugri, Managing Director, TEPPIA; Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, the Eastern Regional Minister; His Excellency Archbishop Julien Kaboré, Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, and Most Rev. Joseph Afrifah-Agyekum, Bishop of Koforidua, who would give the welcome address.

The 2nd Catholic Education forum seeks to meticulously identify and address pressing challenges within Ghana’s education system and foster collaborative engagement and partnerships among government agencies, religious institutions, educators, and civil society organizations, working together as a cohesive force for educational improvement.
It is to generate innovative ideas and practical strategies that elevate the quality, accessibility, and inclusivity of education, focusing on solutions that are both forward-thinking and implementable.
Also, the Forum is expected to engage in profound dialogue on the vital role of ethics, values, and sustainability within the educational framework, ensuring that the moral dimension of education is nurtured and upheld.

It is expected to create a dynamic platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and expertise in the education sector and to evaluate the performance of the Catholic Church in the provision of education in Ghana vis à vis the vision and mission of her education unit, among others.
The 2nd National Catholic Education Forum also aims at guiding the upbringing of our pupils and students in the fear of the Lord and to improve Catholic education to produce more knowledgeable, competent, skillful, responsible, and well-rounded Ghanaians for the world of work and a safer and more responsible society.
