Catholic Archdiocese of Accra Ordains Seven Deacons.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra has been blessed with seven (7) deacons, who were ordained on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Atomic.


The diaconate ordination saw Priests, religious and Catholic Faithful as well as family and well-wishers grace the occasion to support the ordinands in their journey to becoming deacons.

The candidates for the ordination were; Isaac Kofi Dunyoh of St. Patrick, atomic, Micheal N.A. Owusu-Amponsah of Christ the King, Cantonments, Toussaint Wadia nianza of Holy Spirit Cathedral, Adabraka, Victor Yaw Ampim of St Joseph the Worker, Nii Boiman, Roland Rosamunda Kwupoli Kajelo of St. Benedict, Ofankor, Fredrick Asante Owusu, St. John the Baptist, Odorkor, peter Oppong-Ampofo, Ss. Anne and Joachim, teshie.

Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra was the main celebrant, Anthony Narh Asare was the ordaining Bishop while Very Rev Fr. Ebenezer Akesseh was the homilist.

In his homily, he said that selecting the 7 candidates was to create an office to solve a problem and not to be a problem for the church.

He called on them to demonstrate a certain maturity after the ordination and be men of good character. As deacons, he charged them to be worthy of the title Reverend that is bestowed on them.

The Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSP in his closing remark, thanked all and sundry for their participation. He asked the church not to look mean upon them when they are deploying their duties rather, they should give them the honour because they deserve it.
