Thousands of Catholics have gathered at the Our Lady of Fatima Grotto at the Christ the King Parish, Cantonments, Accra, to participate in the maiden three-day Rosary Congress aimed at empowering Catholics to use the rosary as a weapon.
Organized by the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra in collaboration with Global Rosary Network, the ongoing Congress, which ends tomorrow, Saturday, October 18, is on the theme “The Holy Rosary: A Weapon for Pilgrims of Hope.”
Among the thousands at the ongoing Congress, which began yesterday, October 16 and ends on Saturday, October 18, are Catholics from the eight Deaneries of the Archdiocese and from other Dioceses.
The importance of the Rosary Congress includes fostering spiritual renewal of the people of God in Accra Archdiocese and beyond, promoting devotion to Jesus in the Eucharist and to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and uniting the faithful in three days of intense prayer for peace and healing.

This Accra Archdiocesan Rosary Congress is seen as a way to help individual Catholics deepen their relationship with God, encourage faith, and respond to calls for prayer from figures like Our Lady of Fatima.
The ongoing three-day Congress is featuring spiritual activities such as Rosary Prayers, talks on the Rosary, a procession accompanied by Rosary prayers from Accra mall and Circle to the Christ the King Parish, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Holy Masses, among others.
According to Rev. Fr. David Obeng Painstil, Convener of the Global Rosary Network, this Congress marks the first Rosary Congress in Ghana and Africa, urging all pilgrims present to take advantage of the various activities to build their spiritual life.
