Bishop Louis pays a Pastoral visit to Oyibi Parish.

Most Rev. John Kobina Louis, Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, paid a pastoral visit to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church at Oyibi on 5th May 2025.

The visit coincided with the Sacrament of Confirmation and the official launch of the church’s annual harvest, drawing together priests, reverend sisters, and parishioners in a vibrant celebration of faith.

In his welcome address, Sir Boniface Kayang, Parish Pastoral Council Chair, described the bishop’s visit as a great source of encouragement.

“Your visit reaffirms our unity with the Archdiocese and strengthens our shared mission to build the kingdom of God,” he said.

He noted that although the church is only 18 years old, it has been recognized as one of the most vibrant, fast-growing, and spiritual parishes in the archdiocese since 2007.
“We remain committed to prayer, evangelization, service, and addressing both the spiritual and physical needs of our people,” he added.

Delivering the homily, Bishop Louis encouraged the confirmands to remain steadfast in their Catholic faith and maintain a strong prayer life.

He also reminded godparents of their spiritual responsibility.
“Once we call you godparents, they have become your spiritual children,” he said. “You are not here today just to put your hands on their shoulders and take pictures. You have become their mentors and are expected to help them grow in spirit.”

He commended the parish for its impressive development and urged members to continue their hard work to further the growth of the Church.

In a gesture of love and support, various associations within the church presented gifts to Bishop Louis to aid him in his ministry.

The celebration also included presentation of awards to parishioners who have dedicated their time and efforts in service to the Church.
