A DEVOTED CATHOLIC SUPPORTS NATIONAL CATHOLIC TV PROJECT WITH GH₵100,000

A devoted Catholic and a retired pharmacist from Konongo-Mampong Diocese, Mr. Edward Kwaku Kwao has donated a seed money GH₵100,000 to support the execution of the National Catholic TV project in Ghana. The donation took place on Monday, 14th June, 2021 at the National Catholic Secretariat in Accra prior to the inauguration of the executive council of the project.

Mr. Kwao a parishioner of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Dansoman said the donation is to thank God for taking him through two major surgeries successfully the last two years.

After a personal encounter with God during one of his devotion while watching a Canadian broadcast, he wondered why there was nothing as such in Ghana. He therefore responded to the little voice in him that urged him to give a seed money of GH₵100,000 to support the church in her ministry to proclaim the good news through television.

In his response to receiving the donation the president of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Most Rev Philip Naameh thanked Mr. Kwao on behalf of the conference for his generosity towards the growth of the church adding that, when the committee was formed they had no idea where the seed money will come from but through the mercy of God Mr. Kwao came through for them.

The Archbishop together with the Priests and Religious present blessed and prayed for Mr. Kwao and his family asking God to heal him completely to be able to enjoy the fruit he had labored for.

In attendance were the Vicar General of the Accra Archdiocese, Very Rev Fr. John Kobina Louis, Very Rev Fr. Lazarus Anondee, the Secretary General of the National Catholic Secretariat, Very Rev Fr. Charles Boampong Sarfo, Assistant Secretary-General, Rev Fr. Dieu-Donne Davor, Executive secretary for the Department of Social Communications, the executive council and members of the National Catholic TV project.
