In her address, the Archdiocesan president of WUCWO, Mrs. Mary Baffoe – Ashun said being alive during this period of the pandemic should not be taken for granted because it really is a blessing. She encouraged all parishes to form their women councils and come on board in order to strengthen women all over the country and beyond.

She highlighted on some of the activities the organization is embarking on to mark their anniversary which include; a visit and a donation to Centre of Hope, Kaneshie. She explained that, they have supplied the centre with items collected from benevolent individuals and also provided them with pews for their small chapel to enhance the Holy Mass Celebration.

Rev. Fr. Donatus Pallu spoke on the theme for the celebration, “Let us care for the family in difficult times”. He said the family should not only be cared for in difficult times but at every given time. Mothers and women he further said are created to become partners of men, therefore women should not sit at home and expect the man to handle everything in the home, that he said is failure.

“As a mother you are not supposed to be lazy, be a productive wife”, he said.  He charged all mothers to train up their children in a manner that is pleasing in God’s eye. He then advised them to support their families with prayers while doing their house chores.

“Speak good words into your children’s lives and may God continue to be with all mothers, mall the sacrifices that we make for others never go unnoticed in the eyes of God”, he concluded.

Awards were later presented to deserving individuals for their dedication and hard work towards the growth of the Church and in the lives of women.
