“It pays to be a witness to Christ”, Fr. Amegashitsi.

Fr. Dominic Amegashitsi has admonished children to be witnesses of Christ because it pays to be. He said this during a Holy Mass Celebration as part of activities lined up for the Holy childhood week at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Kotobabi.

Reflecting on the theme for the celebration thus, “you will be my witnesses”, the parish priest charged the children to look up to the religious in the church who have sacrificed their lives to proclaim the gospel.

To bear witness to the kingdom of God, Fr. Amegashitsi encouraged them to serve the Church through activities such as singing, drumming, proclaiming the word of God and any other relevant activity that will boost their spirituality.

Again, he urged them to honor and respect their parents and the elderly and also study hard to make their parents proud.

This year’s Holy Childhood week celebration also known as Pontifical Mission Society was launched on 6th February, 2022 in all parishes and will be climaxed on the 13th February, 2022.

In view of this, parishes have lined up activities to celebrate the week with the children to make it a fruitful one.
