Dr. Anthony Bonnah Koomson, a visiting Lecturer at the St. Peter’s Regional Seminary at Pedu in the Cape Coast Archdiocese was recently honoured by the Seminary for his voluntary service to the Seminary for over 25 years.
He was presented with a Plaque, a Citation and a Kente cloth at a send-off for him as part of this year’s graduation ceremony of the Seminary. At the ceremony, 53 Students who had completed their academic study were presented with Bachelor of Arts Degree in the Study of Religion and Sociology whiles 58 who had completed their Seminary formation were graduated.
Part of the citation in recognition of his free teaching services in the Seminary read: “during the past 25 years and more, you discharged your teaching responsibility with admirable commitment, loving devotion and an uncharacteristic selflessness. The seminarians who passed through your hands, many of whom are Priests and many others proud Catholic laymen, bear eloquent testimony to your dedication and devotion to duty”.
It continued: “you have been an inspiration to all your students on how we ought to serve the Lord and humanity in our various vocations and professions out of love and commitment without first thinking about monetary and other rewards”.
The Seminary community expressed appreciation to Dr. Bonnah Koomson for his support and sacrifices and assured him of their prayerful support.
Dr. Bonnah Koomson who is also a Consultant of The Catholic Standard, thanked the Seminary community for the honour and present and promised to institute an award scheme for the best student in Communication, the course he taught at the Seminary.
Dr. Alfred Ackaah Essuman, a Lecturer at the Seminary was also sent off and similarly awarded a Citation and a self portrait.
Present was the Most Rev. Emmuanuel Kofi Fianu, Bishop of Ho and Vice President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
