Aseda Night Highlights Christ the King Parish’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

As part of its 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Christ the King Catholic Church, Cantonments, held an inspiring Aseda Night on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Christ the King Parish Hall. The event was organized under the theme, “75 Years of Eucharistic Fellowship: A Night of Thanksgiving and Praise.”

The gathering brought together parishioners, priests, religious, invited guests, friends of the parish, and well-wishers to offer thanksgiving to God for His blessings, protection, and guidance throughout the parish’s seventy-five-year journey.

Delivering the welcome address and purpose of the gathering, the Chairperson of the 75th Anniversary Committee highlighted the significance of thanksgiving as the parish celebrated this important milestone. The Chairperson reminded parishioners that the anniversary was not only an opportunity to reflect on the parish’s achievements but also a time to express gratitude to God and renew their commitment to the mission of the Church.

A major highlight of the evening was the uplifting musical ministration by Ben Adjei and the Benz Initiative Chorus. Their inspiring performance set a joyful tone for the celebration as parishioners sang along and actively participated in the praise and thanksgiving session.

The atmosphere of worship deepened during a powerful session led by Minister Peter Owusu Ansah. Through praise, worship, prayer, reflection, and adoration, he guided participants into a profound encounter with God. Parishioners responded enthusiastically, singing and dancing joyfully in celebration of God’s goodness and faithfulness.

The excitement reached its peak with the appearance of renowned gospel musician Joe Mettle and his team. Their energetic and spirit-filled performance transformed the hall into a vibrant centre of praise and worship. Parishioners of all ages joined in singing, dancing, clapping, and lifting their voices in thanksgiving, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of unity and celebration.

The programme concluded with closing prayers and a final blessing by the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Ebenezer Akesseh. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guest ministers, the parish’s assisting priests, Rev. Fr. Gerald Owusu-Amankwatia and Rev. Fr. Julius Kofi Dela Gemadzi, as well as Rev. Fr. George Mensah, the organizing committee, volunteers, youth groups, sponsors, and all parishioners whose dedication and support contributed to the success of the event.

The Aseda Night stood out as one of the major highlights of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, reminding all present of God’s enduring faithfulness and the importance of thanksgiving. It was a memorable evening marked by prayer, praise, joyful fellowship, and a renewed commitment to the mission of Christ the King Parish as it celebrates 75 years of Eucharistic fellowship.
